Operation Hot Mama SOS

Ladies.

I'm 10 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight and I am in a jam.

I am eating ok, well as ok as I can. I'm staying away from bad carbs for the most part but tonight's dinner was pizza and since I was starving and had no other options I wasn't passing that shit up. I had 3 slices of cheese. Deal with it.

I would love to do all the fancyschmancy cleanses and shakes and crap y'all do but I am a SAHM of 3 boys, so all my money goes to feeding them, clothing them and Starbucks {for me and the husband, duh}. I am broke. Advocare ain't happening honey unless someone wants to be a dear and gift it to me.

I workout every other day {or at least try to} and I do my elliptical and crunches and a few other exercises but I'm starting T25 tomorrow because I need to ramp it up.

I need your help. I need foods, workouts, cleanses, rain dances that are DOABLE. I'm so close and yet it still feels so far away. HELPPPPPP MEEEEEEE.

A Little Fluff For Now

So, I realize I have a few people waiting {hopefully patiently...} for my couponing posts. I PROMISE they will be done soon, they take a lot of focus and concentration so I don't leave anything out and right now I don't get a lot of that. So in the meantime, I'm gonna give y'all a little fluff and filler to keep your interest.

As some of you know, C isn't talking. Like, AT ALL. He makes lots of sounds and noises and can sound out most of his ABCs and can make the sounds of a few words like "cheese", "bread" and "juice". That's all we get though. So, with the help of one of my lovely sisters-in-law I was able to get set up to get him evaluated for speech therapy through the state. He qualifies for the program and today the assessor comes out to find out what help he needs specifically and then hopefully in a few weeks we will have our own therapist out here with us once a week for the next year. We might also need other therapies too because he has some other developmental delays that we weren't aware of. I am nervous and excited and hopeful that soon my sweet boy will come to me and say actual words so that we can cross this frustrating bridge.

I get a lot of people telling me that he will talk "when he is ready" but what they don't understand is, he IS ready. It's almost like the words there on the tip of his tongue but they are stuck. When you have a child who talks early then you can't understand at all what we are dealing with because you don't know what it's like. B was my early talker {and walker and sleep through the night-er...} so I wasn't expecting this to happen but it has and we just want to move past it so that we can help him be less frustrated when he needs something and WE can be less frustrated because we will understand him.

Other new developments? I am now only 10 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight goal. I'm not doing anything drastic or pricey {I'm a SAHM of THREE so I am broke all the time} but I have made some big changes for myself. I had to drop my YMCA membership before I had Noah because we couldn't afford it anymore but I am exercising at home and once the weather is nice again we will go for walks at the park. I have also cut wayyy back on carbs {which is REALLY hard for a carb-aholic like me} and cut out most of the junk. {I cannot and will not give up my Grande Mocha Light Frapp from Starbucks}. I'm trying to eat more veggies, fruits, lean proteins and I also started a {simple and yummy} detox from Pinterest last night. I give props to all of you out there who can afford Advocare or any of those other detox/cleanse programs but it's not in my budget now and probably never will be, and that is OK!

1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries

1/4 of a lemon or 2 tbsp of lemon juice if you don’t have a lemon

1/2 cup cold water

5 ice cubes

1 tbsp Honey/Agave Syrup/Maple Syrup or any other liquid sweetener

Blend all ingredients together until smooth, and enjoy!

I am doing it with/as my breakfast each morning and after dinner each night. I did it for the first time last night and I kid you not I had to pee 3 times overnight! I don't remember peeing that much since I was pregnant with Noah! I woke up feeling good and not heavy or bloated and did it again at breakfast. So I will keep you posted on how it goes after a full week! I'm just doing what works for ME and working to make ME happy. Right now when I look in the mirror I don't hate what I see but I don't love what I see either and I want to love what I see again.

Lastly, I'm going through some serious hair drama and have no idea what I want to do. One day I want to cut it and the next I want to leave it long. Here are some of the looks I'm thinking of:

The first and second picture are for color ideas only if I keep my hair long. The third is my absolute favorite cut ever and the last pic is the color I might do if I cut it. I am not sure what to do and keep going back and forth about it so maybe one of these days I will make up my damn mind!

Xoxo,

Disconnecting

As most of you reading this might know, my husband and I decided to give up Facebook for Lent. I cannot tell you how hard it was to delete the app off my phone last night but this morning I am feeling pretty good about it.

Facebook for the longest time was just something I glanced at for a little while each day, just scrolled through to see what my friends and family were up to and to post a status or a picture to share. That is until this last year or so. It's become so much more to me on a daily basis. Like an addiction. I had to know what was going on with people constantly and as soon as I wake up in the morning it was the first thing I would check after email and Instagram. If I had to do something or go somewhere I was wondering what I was missing, what were people saying? An hour would go by and I had already checked FB a few more times. Multiply that through the whole day and I think you see where I am going.

It had consumed me. Completely. I knew it was not healthy and I didn't care.

Recently I have had a few things occur that have affected me personally and emotionally and that is when I knew, I needed to break up with FB for a while. That shouldn't happen. They are just WORDS on a screen. People's posts shouldn't bother me deeply, but they did. I won't get into details but they affected me and that was enough for me to wake up and see I have a problem.

I am positive and hopeful about this break and while it may sound silly to some, we are very serious when we say we need this. I don't need to see what is going on in someone else's life to make me feel complete, I need to be happy and content with what I have going on in my life first because that is really all that matters. FB is supposed to be a fun social place to share and reconnect, but it shouldn't be a place that takes over your daily life and leaves you feel like you need it constantly. That's the bad part about how smart our technology is these days, everything is so accessible and right in your face. They don't want you to miss anything, to be able to enjoy life a little disconnected.

Although I will rejoin the FB world In a few weeks, hopefully a little healthier, right now a little disconnection is just what I need.
